 Let me start by saying that A STIFF KISS is the most unique and refreshing thing I’ve read this year. At times the emotion was so deep and the relationships were so real it almost read contemporary, but then you have this paranormal twist as the backdrop for the story that’s completely original. And I loved every single page of it!

The story starts with Xylia, a girl so completely broken by her mother's death that she finds comfort in attending stranger’s funerals, and visiting the morgue. I found it very easy to connect with Xylia as a character. She is a real teen, with real problems, and she doesn’t know how to deal with them. Throughout the book we also hear from high school hottie Landon, and I was so glad we got to hear his pov as well. The progression of his feelings for Zylia and the way he accepted her made my heart ache. He is definitely swoon worthy in every way. Their love story is unconventional, but oh so sweet, and one I wouldn’t mind reading more of.

I really can’t say enough good things about this book. It was a fresh twist on a reverse sleeping beauty tale and I’ve never read anything like it. I recommend this book to anybody that likes fairytale retellings, paranormal romance, or dark love stories.

1.) What is your favorite couple in a YA book?

Thought I agree with the lot, and that at times their relationship is a little unhealthy, I do love me some Bella and Edward. That being said, I also really like Clare and Shane from the Morganville Vampires series.

2.) If A STIFF KISS were being made into a movie, who would you pick to play Xylia and Landon?

This is always a tough one, like way tough! So, I’m going to pretend it’s still the ‘90’s because that’s when I watched more movies and were familiar with more actors. I’d pick Ryan Phillippe and Jennifer Love Hewitt

3.) If someone wrote a book about your life, what would they title it?

Stay at Home Mom Makes Millions? No, that’s not really realistic? Hmmm. I don’t know. Maybe I’m being silly, but I don’t think a book about my life would be all that interesting J
