Spotlight: Wasteland by Lynn Rush

Wasteland (Wasteland, #1) –Available Now

Bound by the blood contract his human mother signed four centuries ago, half-demon, David Sadler, must obey his demonic Master’s order to capture fifteen-year-old Jessica Hanks. But as he learns more about her, he realizes she may be the key to freedom from his demonic enslavement.

The only obstacle—Jessica’s distractingly beautiful Guardian, Rebeka Abbott. He must not give in to their steamy chemistry, or he will lose his humanity. But fresh off a quarter millennia of sensory deprivation as punishment for not retrieving his last target, he may not be able to resist temptation long enough to save what’s left of his human soul.

I was completely blown away by WASTELAND. I had read the reviews and expected it to be great, but it was more than great. I sacrificed sleep to finish this book because I could not put it down! First of all I have to give the author credit. She wrote this book from beginning to end from a guy's POV, and I never once doubted her choice to write it that way. Everything David did or said was truly believable. I really enjoyed getting to see this story through his eyes. And even though he is a demon, he has a heart of gold. I loved him! The chemistry between David and Beka was sizzling! Every look and kiss that passed between them left me with butterflies and dying to read the next page. Another thing I loved about this book was the pace and the action. There was never a point where I felt like I wanted to put the book down. Every page propelled me into the next until I found myself at the end and dying for a sequel.

WASTELAND is also a new adult book which is really refreshing. It give the older YA crowd something a bit more satisfying to read. Something a step over the YA line but not quite adult either.

Lynn Rush is a phenomenal writer. This was a truly unique read full of pulse pounding action and swoon worthy romance. I highly recommend it to anyone who looking for something fun and romantic to read. If you like paranormal romance, definitely pick this one up and give it a try. You'll be glad you did. :)

Miniview with Lynn Rush

If I picked up your IPod/MP3 player right now, what band or song am I likely to hear?
Dear X, You Don’t Own Me, by Disciple.

If you could step into the pages of any YA book and live as the heroine, what book and heroine would you choose and why?
I’d have to say Rose in the Vampire Academy. She can kick some SERIOUS butt! I love tough heroines!

You are the star of a hot YA paranormal romance, who are you more likely to fall for? The sweet human boy next door or the bad boy demon?
While I love reading and writing about demons, personally, I would choose the sweet human next door.  J But since you said I’m IN a YA paranormal romance novel, I’d go for the demon.  J

A big thanks to Lynn Rush for hanging out with us and answering my questions! Make sure to check out the highly anticipated sequel to WASTELAND in May of 2012.
