How does a girl choose between the one who steals her heart and the one who owns her soul?
Matt and Emily were created for a specific job. Raised and trained as the ultimate angel/warrior team, they are sent down to save, defend, judge and forgive, depending on the 'life' they've been assigned. What they don't realize is that the power of human emotions, such as love, anger, passion and fear can take over even the best of souls, causing them to make mistakes and follow paths that lead to confusion and heartache.
When the reason for their training is finally revealed, the angel/warrior team find themselves thrust into a world they know nothing about. Matt takes over the life of Daniel, a young man with a great deal of baggage. Emily becomes Liz, a girl living in a remote village who relies on nothing more than her own strength to survive. A violent storm erupts one night, and framed in the window of Liz's establishment is a frightening face. Let in by the soul of a Good Samaritan, the two visitors bring with them a past full of secrets that could literally change an angel's path and a warrior's plans.
From murder to redemption, this angel/warrior team must find a way to keep the faith they have in each other in a world that's ripping them apart.
Sometimes it’s hard to convey in a short review just how a story makes you feel. If nothing else, Until Next Time will make you think, question, and feel. Whether or not you’re an angel fan, this story touches on some deep emotions and issues of the heart that we all can relate to—the battle within ourselves that questions what is right and wrong, and the struggle of finding our way in life against all odds. I sat back and thought for a long time before I was able to start writing what this story was about, because honestly, I think it can be many things for different people. And that’s what I loved about it. Each reader walks away with their own theories of this story, and their own, new feelings on life, pain, and choice concerning their own lives.
The two plots involving Emily/Liz and Matt/Daniel—one story going on in Heaven while another happens down on Earth—tie together to form a bigger picture and overall connection to Emily’s struggle with her human and angel self. She and her soul mate Matt have trained as angels in Heaven to Heaven discover why humans lose their hope, and in their human forms, Emily and Matt are sent to Earth as if on recon. They don’t retain all their heavenly training, and they battle conflicting human emotions during their mission. Until Next Time is a deep, complex, and thought-provoking story of the struggles of the heart and the fight for love and humanity that will linger with readers long after the story ends.

Summer or winter or another season?
Autumn. I love autumn. It’s not too hot, not too cold, and the colors - no matter what state you live in - are truly stunning. I’m from the East, where the leaves make the whole place look like an artist’s canvas. I’ve lived in the South, Northwest and now the Southwest, and the autumn months offer the most beautiful landscapes in all of these areas. It’s like the last gasp of life before the world goes dark and dreary.
Celebrate birthdays or hide until it’s over?
Celebrate! Celebrate! Celebrate! Life is short and this is a day that’s all about you! Your life, your passions, your desires - you need to make the most of it. And no matter what’s going on for your birthday you need to pat yourself on the back. You’ve made it another year and the next one could be the ‘best of the best’ - you never know. And if you don’t want to mention your age? Don’t. It’s nobody’s business. LOL
If you could travel back to any place and time, when and where and why?
If you could travel back to any place and time, when and where and why?
I’m a writer of historical fiction so there are thousands, but if I have to narrow it down to one, I’d stay in the U.S. and head to New York City in the ‘Roaring 20’s.’ This is my kind of time. From the stunning clothes of the flappers to the dignified suits of the men. From the mobsters to the good guys; from the speakeasies to the jazz music - absolutely everything was cool. They were having a ball, not knowing they were on the verge of the Great Depression, or had WWII looming in their future. They were enjoying life. With new technological marvels like cars, movies and advances in radio they had the world at their fingertips. Formality seemed to go out the window in the aftermath of WWI, and everything you read about that time period shows that it was like a new, happier, more forceful breed of people. I think that time period helped our country to stay strong when things got truly rough once again.
My second choice would be the Royal Library of Alexandria in Egypt back in 283 BC. THAT, for a book (‘scroll’) lover, would be beyond awesome!

Trisha, thanks for the wonderful review of Amy's book. I'm so glad it made you FEEL something. Because that's what it's all about, right?
ReplyDeleteTrisha - I thank you so much for the kindess that you've shown to the angel/warrior team. It really means a great deal to me when readers identify and really 'feel' a book instead of just reading it :) And, I promise - there is even more heartfelt feeling and 'an angel's surrender' coming up in the series! Thank you again!!!
